Sheila Waterfield - Vocals

Sheila has been performing and singing from an early age. Like many artists she grew up in a musical family, therefore singing seemed the obvious path to take.

From the age of seven Sheila became involved with CCE (Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann), an organisation founded in 1951 at a time when Irish music and tradition were in danger of being ignored. Sheila was regularly seen performing at festivals in England and Ireland and held the title of ‘All England Champion’ in traditional Irish singing on four occasions and was featured on Radio Eireann at the age of twelve. She was part of The Shannon Ceilidh Band with whom she regularly sang and played the tin whistle. Sheila also studied music and pianoforte and gained several qualifications with the London College of Music and Media.

Sheila has performed with many of the UK’s top bands - jazz/funk outfit Pazazz, The Paul Metcalfe Band, The Joe Ballanti Showband, Nearly Dan, Tush, Mach 5, Abba Revolution, The Tongue & Groove Big Band and more recently The Big Swing covering many genres of music from folk, rock, pop, disco, to jazz and big band.

In addition to performing with ‘Rococo’ Sheila can be seen on the corporate and jazz circuit with her own trio and quartet and regularly guests with several big bands.
